what does pan focus/fixed focus on pages 22 and 24 on the manual mean? Does it mean you don't need to use the zone focus while in auto mode?

Great video, always wanted to get into the fuji system but haven't yet. I just got a few weeks ago a canon m6mk2 with a 22mm f2 and love using it. It's so much more compact than my canon mirrorless and f 1.2 lens set up. For everyday, family and street photos, I love this camera, too bad canon discontinued this mount. Love all your videos on film. Keep up the great work!

All those reviewers who can't get over plastic build, noisy operation, clicky aperture ring, and age will miss out on a real gem of a small lens. It is optically quite good, and it can be part of a real small street shooting kit. And when given a modest amount of care in weather, I've never had a Fuji body and lens fail. I've owned 2 of them. Sold the first and regretted it. 2nd lives with a 27mm f2.8 for my XE3 body. I have quieter lenses, and those live with my XT4 for more studio work. The 18mm f2 is underrated by people who value all the wrong first impression things.

I live and die by my Ricoh GR ii, things a workhorse and so fun to shoot

A bit random, but, if you are self conscious taking pictures outside, I've found that the old TLRs are bizarrely non-threatening, and definitely get the most positive interactions. They are usually leaf shutters, and around a 50mm equiv. Probably not ideal for classic street, but if you lean more in the "people"/"portrait", it's worth considering maybe?

It definitely gives a look- you can tell pushing film was standard practice in the pre-digital times, at least for people who knew what they were doing. I shot a roll of Fuji 400 at 3200 the other day and was surprised at how well a lot of them came out....I got roughly same batting average as shooting under normal conditions. I suspect the rigid adherence to film's ISO rating is a byproduct of having the option to shoot digital.

4:40 I wouldn't recommend the F3 for street... it's a little clunkier and bigger than other Nikons. The FM2 is great or the FE2 (if you want aperture priority) would be the go to cameras.

Agreed about the GRs, I own both II and III and III is the superior camera overall but I slightly prefer the results from GR II.

Thank you for your review your majesty. I used film in the day but once I’ve used digital I can’t go back. I’ve tried the Ricoh. I liked the images coming out of that machine. I didn’t bond with the 28mm focal length. I tried the GRiiix. Liked the focal length but can’t deal with the lack of an EVF. A deal breaker for me. I love my GX8/85/9. Maybe the 9 the most. No audio jac but love the L monochrome D B&W jpegs. Also the IBIS. The body and lenses are small and lightweight. M43 is good enough for me. Then there is Fuji. Love the dials and nobs. Love the film sims. Have the XE1, X100T, XT30, and XPRO2/3. Nice output. Nice glass. I love Fuji. I use Acros with the red filter and velvia. Great film sims. Put an order in for the X100VI the day it was announced. Waited three months and cancelled the order. I’m not waiting a year for the camera and not paying a premium. Found an unexpected pile of money and bought a Sony A7C with the 35/2.8. A full frame full frame X100VI with interchangeable lenses. I’m still undecided if I like it. Crazy all the cameras I own. I don’t feel an allegiance to any of them. They are all fun to use and give me the output I want. No more cameras for me. I have to use the gear I own. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

Why the hat?

I would have to see the images myself, but my photo editors and instructor all said that "the best zoom is your feet." And with proximity, other qualities can be kicked up a notch. There is absolutely a difference here, but I'm not sure it necessarily has to be as great as what we ended up with. I am not attacking the skill of either photographer. But every shooter is a little different.

I just got a Fujifilm X-A3 to pair with the TTartisans 27mm f/2.8 I found for $5 and I like what it’s giving me. Wish it had a viewfinder but I like the camera so far. Perfect for traveling.

I have a very rare white and black X-E1 in pristine condition as well as 2 X-t1 and 1 X-t2, X-T4, The latest model has all the better auto focus and settings but none of the filmic look of the earlier Fujifilm cameras. I also purchased through MPB 3 x X-M1 and I wish I purchased more as these are going through the roof as an investment.

Sharpie and/or a Pen! Mark up your film canisters so you remember what and when you shot the roll. Also a film lead retriever, it’s handy when you need it and it doesn’t take that much real estate and isn’t heavy

I have used digicams for 20 years and still own quite a few. Honestly, there are so many great apps out now, your smartphone is a better option. You already have one and it's always with you. Apps like Pearla give you most of the Fuji film simulations and its layout looks like the top of a Fuji camera with complete manual control over your camera, you can also make your own recipes. Leica has that new app with Leica looks. Then you have apps like NOMO and Old Roll that have a bunch of digicam, film and instant film simulations of classic cameras. Lastly, you have film apps like Sweet Film and Daze Cam which are excellent for the disposable look. All this in your phone you already have in your pocket. Zero reason to buy overpriced digicams these days really.
